The next database
that will require your attention is the
Assessment Tools.aps Database. In this
database you will keep all the tools identified
that are used to assess the students according to
your district's Assessment Plan. Open the
database -- Click on the T - bottom left
of the Navigational Square. -- The screen will open
up and you'll be able to imput the data following
these steps. Click on the New Tool
button to open a new record. Then choose the
standard number that the assessment addresses. The
corresponding standard and subject information will
automatically show up. Tab to the
tool field and type in the name of the tool.
It's often that the same tool will be used for
several standards. For instance, CAT tests may be
used to assess 4.1.1, 4.1.3, anf 4.1.6. You will
have to make out a tool for each of the standards
that it addresses.. The next step is to
identify the appropriate grade(s) which will
be using the specific tool in completing the
assessment. Next you will need to
choose the Tool Type. Is it NRA, CRA or other? Most
of these would already be decided and outlined in
the assessment plan created by the
district. The last four fields
tell how the assessment is determined. It explains
how a rating of Beginning or Progressing or
Proficient or Advanced is achieved. The assessment
tool can corraborate the assessment achieved by the
child. If you want to import
some of the tools that are standard, download the
text files. A special "Thank you" to teachers of
ESU 7 schools who went through these
standardized tests. After puting the downloaded
files in the Assessment Folder, Go to File, come
down to import records and import the data much
like you did with the student
information. (Don't forget this
step.) When you've finished putting in all the
assessment tool according to your school's
Assessment Plan, click on the
button
"Make a teacher copy".
And that concludes the Assessment Tools.aps
database. Next step: Prepare the teacher's
folders To go to the previous
step. To
